Prosthetic Dentistry

What Are Crowns & Bridges?

Crowns and bridges are fixed, non-removable dental prosthetics permanently cemented onto existing teeth or dental implants. Unlike removable dentures, they function and feel just like your natural teeth, allowing you to chew, speak, and smile with 100% confidence.

Dental Crowns (Tooth Caps)

A custom-crafted ceramic 'cap' that encases a damaged, broken, or root-canal treated tooth to restore its structural strength, natural shape, and lifelike aesthetics.

Dental Bridges (Missing Tooth Replacement)

A fixed prosthetic spanning the space left by one or more missing teeth, securely anchored between two supporting crowns placed on neighboring abutment teeth.

Maintenance Guide

Caring for Your New Crown

Brush & Floss Normally

Clean the gumline margin thoroughly twice a day to protect the supporting natural tooth root.

Use Interdental Floss for Bridges

Use superfloss or water flossers to clean underneath the artificial suspended pontic tooth.

Avoid Biting Extreme Objects

Never chew on ice cubes, crack nut shells, or open packaging using your teeth.

“I had a missing tooth gap for over 3 years. The Zirconia bridge Dr. Niko placed matches my adjacent teeth so perfectly that no one can tell it’s a bridge. Chewing is effortless again!”

Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

With consistent oral hygiene (brushing, flossing, and 6-month checkups), high-quality Zirconia and E-max crowns typically last between 10 to 15+ years, and often a lifetime.

Not at all. We administer gentle local anesthesia before tooth reshaping. You will feel zero pain during the procedure. Mild temperature sensitivity for 2-3 days following preparation is completely normal and subsides quickly.

Zirconia provides exceptional mechanical strength (1200+ MPa), making it the ideal choice for back molars that endure heavy chewing. E-max offers superior optical translucency that mimics natural enamel, making it the gold standard for visible front teeth.

Both are effective! A dental bridge is faster (completed in days) and does not require bone grafting or surgery. A dental implant replaces the root independently without touching adjacent teeth. We will explain both options during your consultation.
